The "7 Minute Workout" is a research-backed workout program that has become an international hit! This is the iPad version of the internationally popular iPhone app.

Published in the leading research journal ACSM, and then popularized by the NYT, the "7 Minute Workout" is simple but effective.

Researchers have selected 12 exercises that are performed for 30 seconds with 10 second rest intervals. This high-intensity training with little rest results in higher daily metabolism and is the equivalent of working out for over an hour - for only slightly longer than 7 minutes.

The best part? The exercises are simple to perform, do not require any equipment, and therefore, can be done anywhere! NO MORE EXCUSES.

This app takes this research-proven workout and guides you through the process. Further, it tracks your results, and makes it fun by allowing you to unlock rewards as you continue working out.

What’s new with this update?

- We have added three additional workout packs to the app for a total of 36 new exercises. The workouts were designed with the help of fitness instructors to ensure it complies with the principles of the 7 minute workout. There are two ways to unlock the workouts: if you workout regularly with the app, the workouts can be unlocked for free. If you want them immediately, we have provided the option to purchase the workouts individually. Try to unlock the workouts for free by simply keeping up with the challenge!

- 4 new achievements can now be unlocked

- added option to change the rest duration between workout cycles

- AirPlay support for iPhone users is now enabled

- post your achievements directly to Facebook and Twitter after earning them

- app will continue to play when your device is on lock

- app will alert you when to switch sides for exercises that require you to alternate your body position

- changed some of the audio cues to make them easier to understand

- weight tracker and calendar have new improved appearances

- you can set what time the workout alert timer should go off

- fixed several bugs including those involving achievements (they will be corrected retroactively)

- fixed some translation errors and added support for Thai, Vietnamese and Russian

There's not a lot to fault with this app. The exercises are all doable with little modification, and seeing improvements in only two weeks was heartening (much better push up, and more of them, if still on my knees!). The audio cues are excellent- naming the next exercise twice, countdown beeps, and I love the "halfway there."

I am a qualified fitness instructor. My travels are extensive and take me to places where I cannot easily train. I have looked at several fitness Apps but cannot find one better than this. It does exactly what it sets out to do.

You really feel like you are toning up all different areas 😄 Do it anywhere you want and at any time. Better than going to the gym.

Recently started to get back into exercise after ages out of it. I know short sharp intense workouts cause the afterburn and this is the ideal app for doing heartraisers. You can tweak it for doing longer circuits as you unlock challenges. I tend to throw in a few free weights and a run a week as well as getting enough good wholesome food and low carbs so it's not all the app, but the point is the app is setting me on the road to real fitness again. The weight is dropping off and after two months down two inches on waist and building up lean muscle. The question is without the app would I have started again? I doubt it in my current circumstances and I'd have no problems downloading the new circuits as you have to keep your circuits fresh so you don't plateaux. Brilliant app thank you

I am over 60 and do not like organised exercise or the Gym, but t his app is good because I know it is only 7 Mins ( until I get fit enough to do the cycle twice or more! ). The achievement badges are also a good motivator to do the exercises every day. Would recommend to anyone who does not want to run, swim or go to the gym regularly.

A brilliant app for squeezing in a workout when time is limited or you don't have any workout facilities. You will get more benefit by doing more than one set per day though.. Do 2 in the morning and 2 before bed! If you're getting tired, increase the rest time between exercises.

Just downloaded this on iPad- went to download on iPhone and it's a different version so data doesn't sync for when I'm at the gym - very frustrating!!
