Troublesome release (4.28.0)
21/06/2017 05:08:49 1/5 By Cholas71
Would not download so deleted app, reinstalled and fine. So downloaded some shows for an flight and discovered app will not start unless you connected to internet! Good old Joe public testing the release. Was such a great app, now bloated and become unusable

Keeps crashing (4.28.0)
21/06/2017 04:18:54 1/5 By PaulJS

Crashes, crashes and more crashes (4.28.0)
21/06/2017 02:23:01 1/5 By Arlique
BBC iPlayer was an amazing app, right up until the update. Now I can't open anything, my commutes are boring cause I can't watch TV, and I have to sign in. What a let down.

Utterly useless (4.28.0)
21/06/2017 00:47:08 1/5 By HMCIL
Since the last two updates I have not been able to login or send error rpt. I press sign in, it thinks for 10 secs, then puts me back to sign in page! I'm fed up with personalisation too. If I could choose no stars, I would. Sort it out BBC, look at your ratings and LISTEN to your customers!!!

Broken after recent update (4.28.0)
21/06/2017 00:23:54 1/5 By Lost in Oslo
What kind of awful quality assurance takes a perfectly working app and trashes it? App doesn't run for more than a second before crashing. Surely the most basic testing would have picked this up. Shocking.

Frustrated!!! (4.28.0)
21/06/2017 00:01:21 1/5 By Irohin
I've refrained from giving a bad review so far but this is just frustrating. The update is meant to have addressed the issue with downloading, but does it? No!!!! Do the developers not test releases before issuing them????? Come on!

Remove the sign in and I'll use it again (4.27.0)
20/06/2017 18:05:45 1/5 By Sjk1000
Remove the sign in and I'll use it again

Try this... (4.28.0)
20/06/2017 17:21:14 5/5 By Jek C
I was getting the queuing thing and just deleted then reinstalled the app. Working now...I've signed in as well and am now going to listen to the 10 O'clock News on Radio 4, half an hour after it finished. God, I love this app...

Frustrating (4.28.0)
20/06/2017 16:20:51 1/5 By Just want photo of the clothes
Does my head in. Some programmes show up after being on air..some take a few hours. I'd say that 60% of the time I encounter an issue when trying to view or download something. Plus, like to download programmes for when I travel and have no signal. The app takes a few minutes to adapt to being offline as tries to connect. Very frustrating. Rubbish app that we have to endure to access bbc stuff. FYI. UK resident.

Keeps crashing (4.28.0)
20/06/2017 16:16:52 1/5 By Dinky4077
Current version keeps crashing when offline. It worked perfectly well before.

Useless (4.28.0)
20/06/2017 16:11:12 1/5 By Masmid2
This app is absolutely useless now with latest update, AVOID.

Won't be signing in... (4.28.0)
20/06/2017 15:33:26 1/5 By Thee-igneous-one
Terrible idea ! Update: Now it's required to sign in. Time to delete the App...

Unable to use away from home (4.28.0)
20/06/2017 14:09:29 1/5 By DavidKK0
The latest update has stopped me from being able to watch programs without a wifi connection even though they have been downloaded. I shall have to find some other way of watching downloaded BBC content on my commute.

Crashing (4.28.0)
20/06/2017 14:08:27 1/5 By Minitomato86
Crashes the moment you try and open the app, while offline. Haven't tried while on WiFi yet, but what's the point of having an app on your phone if you can't use it outside?

Crashes since update (4.28.0)
20/06/2017 12:47:25 2/5 By Weeza Date
Updated this morning. Downloaded programmes ok. Now the app won't open. Can't even send an error report. A very boring commute to my night shift. Should have picked up my kindle!!

BBC Iplayer is rubbish (4.28.0)
20/06/2017 11:40:29 1/5 By Dhdbbf
Bye bye bbc iplayer I refuse to log in and majority of people will to its just annoying now I won't be able to watch to programmes I wanna watch anywayz good bye hope BBC changes their mind anyway.

Register? Big Brother Corporation!! (4.28.0)
20/06/2017 11:10:11 1/5 By Moggieo
I will NEVER register, I would rather delete the app. I like some BBC content, but I want to choose, I don't need you telling me what I may like to watch, I'm quite capable of doing that myself; this is just another reason I wish we could choose to pay for the BBC or not, like some other TV services, it should not be mandatory, we shouldn't have to pay for a so-called licence. Very poor indeed.

Why (4.28.0)
20/06/2017 09:42:44 1/5 By serdar arslan
I can't go into BBC iPlayer why do I have to sign in It use to be good you just open the app done. why just put it back the was it was You can't even sign in with Facebook it would be more easy with Facebook use you brains you idiots

Why the sign in??? (4.27.0)
20/06/2017 05:45:11 2/5 By Th3steg
I've been using this app for years and to be fair it should have more stars than I have given it for the app itself. The main issue now is that before you use it you now have to sign up with the BBC, now I am a license payer so why the issue with me?, well because no where else does this like say Amazon Alexia where I can so her to play radio one with out a sign up for the BBC, and I can hear you say but you have with your amazon account. Yes but what about all the online streaming and also other apps on the App Store that freely broadcast the stations without sign up. BBC iPlayer has been removed from all my deuces as I do not wish to sign up for something I pay my license fee for to use, if you want my details pay me or reduce my license fees.

Issues remain (4.26.0)
20/06/2017 02:05:21 1/5 By Paul57var
Unfortunately problems remain unsolved. Downloads fail 60% of the time. Very frustrating. Damaging organisations reputation.

A Password Too Far (4.28.0)
20/06/2017 01:23:51 1/5 By Fuchsia Cardigan-Fitzbaddeley
Am fed up with personalisation! I don't want to have to log in to access a service I've already paid for via my TV Licence. What you think I will like and what I actually do like are two seperate things. I am a person not an algorithm!

Wont open after update (4.28.0)
19/06/2017 23:57:58 1/5 By Wretched
No longer can open app after update on 19/06/17??

Just tell the truth for once (4.28.0)
19/06/2017 19:58:54 1/5 By SealClubber
Stop hiding behind the "personalised content" excuse when your requirement for signing in is purely to protect your revenue (which I pay btw) goodbye and can I get a refund on my licence since I'll no longer be using iPlayer?

Signing in? (4.27.0)
19/06/2017 17:49:32 3/5 By Lexi Nando's is the best
You now need to sign which I don't mind. But it is telling me that I haven't signed in!

It was inevitable (4.27.0)
19/06/2017 17:27:36 1/5 By I, touchy
...but it's been really sad to watch this decline over the years. The formerly innovative, pack-leading, focused, ego-free iPlayer of old, unadulterated by commercial interest and government interference, is gone. It has more features but it's a shadow of its former self.

Big Brother Corp (4.28.0)
19/06/2017 16:39:13 1/5 By GuessitsbacktoFM
Dont want you "to personalise my experience" thankyou, bbc, got a mind of my own to make my own choices. There wouldn't be an ulterior motive for scooping up personal data would there? no, 'course not.

Not good (4.28.0)
19/06/2017 15:57:56 1/5 By Aziz Rahman (Sussex)
Seems like a BBC does not care about the wishes of public. It is clear from the comments that the general consensus is not To register to use the app but instead it is now a requirement to register so that BBC can gather data on the viewing habits of individuals.

Deleted (4.28.0)
19/06/2017 15:56:24 1/5 By Latinhypercube
Demand to register is a step too far. The BBC has become a tax funded scheme for its wealthy execs and millionaire presenters whilst putting out content indistinguishable from commercial channels.

Do not update ..... please fix (4.28.0)
19/06/2017 14:45:02 1/5 By lstaccy
No longer opens following your latest 'fix'. Well done
