—— New in 3.0.0 ——

• ALL-NEW DESIGN
How it looks, how it works, and how it feels – Things has been completely redesigned, with more clarity, improved workflows, better structure, and delightful animations. It’s a to-do list like no other.

• PROJECT HEADINGS
It’s so much easier to handle your projects now that you can break them up with headings. Use them to create categories, milestones, or whatever you need.

• CHECKLISTS
Some things take several steps to complete but don’t require a full-blown project. So we now have Checklists, which help you break down the finer details of a to-do. Use them for shopping lists, when packing your bag for a trip, or to detail a process at work so you won’t miss a critical step.

• DESKTOP-CLASS LIST EDITING
Editing your lists on iOS now comes with lots of power, and no friction. Swipe to-dos to multi-select them, then edit them all at once: set their date, move them to another list, or tap and drag the group together.

• MAGIC PLUS BUTTON
Finally, a versatile way to insert a to-do right where you want it! Just drag the magical button with your finger and let go. You can also drag it toward the left margin in a project to create a Heading, or drop a new item to your inbox from any other list.

• CALENDAR INTEGRATION
Display calendar events alongside your to-dos and stay on top of your schedule. They will show at the top of your Today list, and for each day in Upcoming, where you plan the week ahead.

• SWIPE TO SCHEDULE
Working with dates is super easy with the new When selector. Simply swipe on any to-do to bring it up, then quickly choose when you want to start: Today, a later date, or it on hold in Someday.

• NATURAL LANGUAGE RECOGNITION
The When Selector has a magical ingredient: Natural Language Recognition. It smartly detects what you’re typing to work out what you mean... “Tom(orrow)”, “Sat(urday)”, “in fou(r days)”, “Au(gust 1)”. As you can see, it jumps to all the right conclusions.

• PLAN YOUR DAY – WITH TODAY AND THIS EVENING
Once you’ve made your plan, the Today list is your go-to place for all daily activities. Calendar events now display at the top, giving an outline of your schedule. Your to-dos follow, with a discrete section at the bottom called This Evening for things you’ll get to later in the day.

• PLAN YOUR WEEK – WITH UPCOMING
Plan your week ahead with the new Upcoming list. It shows everything on your agenda for the coming days: scheduled to-dos, repeating to-dos, deadlines, and calendar events. A quick peek at this list is all it takes to stay on top of your schedule.

• REMINDERS
One of Things’ most-requested features is now here: time-based reminders! You can add a reminder by typing (natural language recognition), or just speak to Siri. For those to-dos you absolutely cannot miss, reminders will give you peace of mind.

• QUICK FIND
Search and navigation in Things is now extremely fast, with Quick Find. All you need to do is swipe down in any list and start typing – the name of a project, to-do, or tag – and instantly you’re taken there. It’s magic!

• APP-WIDE TAG FILTERS
Just search for the name of any tag to pull up an app-wide filter. It shows all items with that tag across all your projects and areas. It’s a fantastically versatile way to view your to-dos.

• THE NEW SOURCE LIST
Projects are now shown directly under their areas to keep everything tidy. Each one also has a progress indicator that shows just how close you are to achieving your goal.

Description

*** APPLE DESIGN AWARD WINNER 2017 ***

Meet the all-new Things! A complete rethinking of the original, award-winning task manager – with a perfect balance between simplicity and power, incredible new features, delightful interactions, and a timeless new design.

HERE'S HOW THINGS WORKS

If you're new to Things, this is the basic workflow:

1. Collect Your Thoughts
Get things off your mind quickly with Things’ action extension – it lets you create to-dos from other apps. Or just talk to Siri on any device (“Remind me to...”) and import from Reminders.

2. Get Organized
Create a project for each of your goals, then add the steps to reach them. For clarity, add structure with headings. Then group your projects by areas of responsibility, such as “Family”, “Work”, or “Health”. Review these regularly to stay on top of things.

3. Plan Your Time
See your calendar events alongside your to-dos and plan your time effectively. Create repeating to-dos for things you do every few days, weeks, or months – Things will remind you on the right day.

4. Make the Most of Your Day
Every morning, grab a coffee and prepare your list for “Today”: review previously planned to-dos and make quick decisions on what to tackle. Pick some more steps from your projects and then get going. The Today list is the only place you’ll need to look for the rest of the day.

5. Customize Your Workflow
Use tags to categorize your to-dos or add context. For example, tag places like “Office” or “Home”, or tag all your “Errands”, or everything you’re working on with “Kate”. You can easily find everything you’ve tagged via filtering or search.

HERE'S WHY WE THINK YOU'LL LOVE THINGS

1. It stays out of your way.
As you start using Things, you’ll quickly notice how seamlessly all the features fit together to give you an uncluttered, focused experience. There are no unnecessary frills. No pointless gimmicks or useless controls. In fact, you’ll hardly notice the app – it’s just you and your to-dos.

2. Everything revolves around your to-dos.
In Things, each of your to-dos are special. In a list, they simply show a checkbox and the title of your to-do. But when you open them, they extend into a beautiful white piece of paper that’s ready to hold your thoughts. Additional details (checklists, tags, reminders, deadline) are nicely tucked away in the corner until you need them.

3. It’s got a touch of magic.
Things removes friction in magical ways. Take the new Magic Plus Button that lets you insert to-dos at any place in a list – simply via drag and drop. Or the ease at which you can multi-select and operate on many to-dos at once. Or the natural language date parser: just type “tomorrow”, “in 4 days", or “next Wednesday", and it will jump to all the right conclusions.

4. It’s got all the power of iOS.
Things is fully integrated with all the latest iOS technologies: Apple Watch, Calendars, Siri & Reminders, Today Widget, Quick Actions, Action Extension, Handoff, and Notifications.

5. And much more...
Everyone's got their favorite feature, it's impossible to list them all. See what our users love about Things – visit our website at: thingsapp.com

Comments and Ratings for Things 3

Very good (3.0.3)
10/06/2017 08:35:23 5/5 By Jfaxel
What a app. I was very hesitant to buy but well worth it. Syncs nicely across all platforms

Almost perfect (3.0.3)
10/06/2017 07:15:22 4/5 By icklemickle
Things has thought of everything to make a powerful to do app which, unlike many of its competitors, is also very simple to use. I would recommend taking the short tutorial to see some of its more powerful features. One thing might be worth adding for the next update: location based reminders. I often use this feature on Apple Reminders and would like it integrated into this app.

Reminders don't work! (3.0.3)
10/06/2017 02:00:30 1/5 By t7p7
Reminders don't work if Sounds=Off in notifications settings. With Sounds=On they also don't work for repeating todos/projects until I open Things so that it creates today's copy of those. Fix please!

Totally worth it (3.0.3)
09/06/2017 04:04:45 5/5 By Olivier Legris
Buy it, use it and it will change your life

Expensive, but OK (3.0.3)
08/06/2017 17:53:08 3/5 By RBJ001
7th June 2017 I like it so far, but incredibly expensive for an iOS app 10 pounds IPhone plus 30 for iPad. And this is Things 3 implying they will force paid upgrades at regular intervals. Doesn't use the proper iCloud, but its own for which you need to get yet another account!! I see no sign of the Things 3 watch app. Nothing on my Watch and. Itching apparent in the iOS watch app?

Perfect (3.0.3)
07/06/2017 03:42:54 5/5 By herpderpderpa
Having used many different todo apps I've always come back to Things. The new version 3 is now perfection for me - it has rock-solid performance and sync from Things 2, as well as some evolved features.

Must have (3.0.3)
06/06/2017 16:14:14 5/5 By Woogarr
The best app of its kind . Switched from OmniFocus and I find this a far better app at a fraction of the price. Very easy to navigate and I can only highly recommend.

Good update, if a little pricey! (3.0.2)
06/06/2017 10:50:18 4/5 By Itsguy
A good update to an excellent app. My only gripe is that to update a phone, an iPad, and a desktop is too expensive. Surely it would be at least as profitable to have lower prices and more users? And what about a deal price for having more than one version? I'm giving up upgrading the desktop version due to the price, which is a pity.

Awesome (3.0.2)
06/06/2017 01:30:45 5/5 By pdjamez
I've been using Things since the initial beta. This app continues to be the very best productivity app on any platform.

Brilliant! (3.0.2)
05/06/2017 16:21:50 5/5 By pillarboxcottage
I loved the previous version but this one is even better, with a much cleaner interface and easy-to-use features. I'm loving being able to prioritise to do items by sliding them up and down a list, and also having bullet points within a to do item. This update was well worth the money, and worth waiting for.

Great user interface - disappears (3.0.2)
05/06/2017 02:54:15 5/5 By Paulj73
Love it

Great app with a stylish user interface (3.0.2)
05/06/2017 02:02:47 4/5 By jamiek695
It's a great app, does exactly what you want and looks stunning. One slight niggle would be the cost across all devices. But you get what you pay for! Can't recommend it enough. Give it a try you won't regret it.

So good ! (3.0.2)
04/06/2017 03:31:12 5/5 By Burrisher
I've updated from a version of Things I've been using for over five years - it's been a smooth upgrade and I am really happy with it. enhancements are brilliant. Fab that it syncs iPhone with iPad and calendar. So useful.

Miles better than the previous version (3.0.2)
03/06/2017 14:46:57 4/5 By Ach_
... but please PLEASE can we have a version for non-Macs too? Pretty please? If I could have that I might be able to switch completely:)

Upgrade is really good (3.0.2)
03/06/2017 06:40:58 5/5 By Turcaud
Downloaded Things3 for iPad and iPhone. Very pleased with that decision despite the cost. I did not upgrade it on my Mac because of the additional cost of that, and there is no package deal. However I have been very pleased with the redesign. It works better than before and so far the only comments I have are minor. One thing I find irritating is that a repeating task listed under Someday cannot be added to a project. However such issues are to be expected in a new design and I and sure feedback will be responded to. I have used ToDo and Toodledo and tried other apps and Things is now back to being the best.

Excellent (3.0.2)
03/06/2017 04:34:30 5/5 By Dave555555555555555
Find the program to be excellent. Very smooth running and integrates well over all devices. Very useful.

Phenomenal (3.0.2)
03/06/2017 03:01:24 5/5 By adamhorner
I've been relying on Things for years, this update is just brilliant and I'm confident that I'll continue relying on it in the future too.

Well designed app. (3.0.2)

Excellent

Devil's advocate (3.0.2)
02/06/2017 12:51:46 2/5 By Major Squeeze
The new Things is clearly a powerful and sleek beast . I haven't though seen many reviews of Things iOS that mention downsides . I do wonder how anyone can assess a new app thoroughly enough to confidently award 5 stars, within days of its release . To perhaps redress the balance (or is it an 'outpouring of negativity'), here are my rough jottings of aspects of Things 3 that I find a turn off: Loss of functionality from Things 2 as listed in the Things Support article e.g. Projects list gone, can no longer set an advance warning of a deadline, can no longer filter by 'no tag', nor by deadline, cannot change font size, no time stamp inside to-dos. Plus: No alphabetical sort of projects in sidebar No collapsing of areas in "sidebar " Spotlight integration is gone. Additionally: No collapsing of the new headings within projects Loss of shading impedes ease of the "form filling " aspect of using the app. Things 2 had a superb UI design, attractive and guiding the user 's eye. We now have white space Loss of colour coding of areas - no green icons, except in Someday No location-based to dos Still no repeating to dos in projects Too much white space on the screen ( see above). It's harsh on the eye and creates glare. Things 3 "What's new" says " When you open a to-do, it smoothly transforms into a clear white piece of paper, ready for your thoughts. " A blank canvas may be helpful if I'm writing a book or a journal, but Things is essentially a database and I find the structure of a form helpful when entering data. Notes still cannot be hidden No undo or cancel button e.g. Creating a new to do I have difficulty in moving around the app - I'm not finding it intuitive You can't switch to landscape view (being locked in portrait feels claustrophobic to me) The new 'headings' feature looks quite useful, but what is its intended purpose? If it's really defining a sub-task, why can't you mark it 'done'? The checklist feature is rather in the same category. Nifty, but isn't it really a sub-task? I can't figure out how to archive a checklist for future use, a feature that would be very handy and would justify the use of the term 'checklist'. The very useful improvements and new features of Things 3 have probably all been covered in the avalanche of positive reviews, so I won't mention them here. It is a good app in many ways , but a long way (in my view) from being brilliant . It is a surprise to me that I much prefer Things 2! Having said that, my 2 star marking is tongue-in-cheek - or just plain cheek! - the app is much better than that. But when you're the devil's advocate, needs must😊. I hope the developer will enhance and improve the features of Things 3, to build on the excellent work they have already done.

Outstanding (3.0.2)
02/06/2017 12:50:44 5/5 By MrScott332
As above, simply stands apart from the rest.

Still evaluating (3.0.2)
02/06/2017 11:57:34 4/5 By Dawn Riser
I was a long time user of Things from the start but moved to Trello during the long wait for v3. I like that it's familiar and less complicated. So my guess at this stage is that it will become my No1 task organiser again. I'll update this once I have put Things 3 through its paces. Only then might it earn the 5th star. (Hint to CC - don't nag for reviews too early - I can't tell how good it is until I have I've had chance to fully test it out for a few weeks)

Things (3.0.2)
02/06/2017 06:44:48 5/5 By wanzerjk
Over the past 6 years I've tried almost every 5 star productivity app going, and for ease of use and new UI this years Things, nails it perfectly.

Powerful and yet easy to use (3.0.2)
02/06/2017 06:05:29 5/5 By Maxime MP
One of the most important aspects: it is quick and easy to add a new task. A link to the email you have just received, to an interesting article or a funny tweet can be automatically added to your new task. It feels so good to be able to write down any thought at any moment without being distracted of my main activity.

Quite exceptional task manager (3.0.2)
02/06/2017 03:19:53 5/5 By Eyestorm4000
As a long time user of the sadly soon to be defunct Wunderlist I downloaded the Things app based on the reviews. I'm glad I did as for a relative newcomer to the GTD methodology the App is so simple to use, the built in guide project is a mine of information as is the website. The user interface is a dream to use and It allows you to be as complex or as simple in terms of task planning as you wish. Highly recommended for anyone who needs a high quality planning system.

Great so far (3.0.2)
01/06/2017 22:41:12 4/5 By Pitts2212
Been using the app for a week - very impressive so far. Lovely clean interface and good functionality. Would probably be five stars if I didn't have to buy it three times (Phone, Pad and Mac).

It's ok! (3.0.2)
01/06/2017 17:58:03 1/5 By Robs167
Don't really know what all the hype is about 😤 Very basic for £7.99, plus there is no calendar option. In my opinion, save your money and get the spark app, for a lot cheaper and works much better. Spark has email, calendar, and to do's all in one great app!!👌

Brilliant (3.0.2)
01/06/2017 08:09:03 5/5 By mkronberg
Can't live without it anymore

Brilliant task manager (3.0.2)
31/05/2017 11:29:14 5/5 By filipegouveiac
Totally worth the price tag - takes a lot of the pain out of task management!

Perfect in every way! (3.0.2)
31/05/2017 11:20:54 5/5 By wavefunction
I've used countless to-do apps over the years and almost gave up on finding the right one... until I tried Things 3. It's perfect in every way!

Good, but expensive (3.0.2)
31/05/2017 11:04:48 4/5 By UKTonyN
Like the interface, I run on a iPhone, iPad & mac so works very well for me. Having sections and then projects is great. Tasks and sub tasks are also good. Very easy to separate out personal & work. Good App
