Comments and Ratings for Airmail 3

Pretty Horrid (3.3.2)
09/06/2017 14:13:17 1/5 By Dick Weiler
Tried it a few years ago and it slowed everything to a crawl. Decided to give it another go with Airmail 3 ….. looks pretty and plenty of options but it takes an age to open the Compose new e-mail or Reply page …. tried everything to no avail. It even slowed the same actions in Mail so I uninstalled it and now everything back to normal. I also prefer Mail Smart Folders which I use a lot …….. sorry …. it’s horrid for me.

Nice interface but support could be much better (3.3.2)

Bought this a couple of months ago for both my iphone and macbook. The interface is nice. Easy to read, and the integrations with Omnifocus and Asana, and others is good. It took ages to set up though just the way i wanted it. Then again that’s what i like, it’s exactly the way i want it set up. However, the support part is really difficult. They use a chat system, and it’s not always manned. So if you have a problem like i did, it can be hard to get it resolved. One of my biggest gripes is that you can’t open smime.p7m emails. These are emails that have been encrypted. Our business now sends encrypted emails as standard, as do many others, and i can’t open them. They can be opened in Mac’s own Mail.app, but not in Airmail. There is a plugin from a 3rd party, but it needs to be installed and it doesn’t work. So i’d say it’s good… but they’ve got some work to do, to iron out the things that we all who have become used to when using Mail.app.

Now totally committed to Airmail 3 (3.3.2)

After struggling with Mail and Outlook on my Mac I tried Airmail. What a difference! Only downside was that I hadn’t discovered this App ages ago. I’m so impressed that I use it on all my Apple products. Its easy to use and fast too. I have a number of email accounts and can now organise and manage them so easily in Airmail. All this at a resonable price too. The support is amazing too, I’ve had a couple of queries on usage and have had immediate responses in all cases. Particular mention to David for his support and patience in repsonding to me (I’m not a geek so need to be handled carefully!) It’s been a great experience so far and undoubtedly the developer will continue to provide an established high level of support and keep improving a gret product. I look forward to future releases to see what they can improve on!

Impressed (3.3.2)

I’ve been casually using it for a few years but finally thought I’d better get more systematic. David @ Airmail taught me about local accounts and now my email isn’t waiting in the cloud to be hacked and I’ve began exploring the rules system which is better than anything I’ve used before, if only for the preview - very reassuring. Recommended.

Great Product, Even Better Service (3.3.2)
06/06/2017 01:36:55 5/5 By paz001
I started using Airmail 3 when I was frustrated by the Gmail web interface but wanted to retain it’s functionality. I haven’t looked back since. The first and only time I needed to conatct the Support team at Airmail, I received such a pleasant- and extremely prompt- from Sarah. I took a while to reply, only to have Steven solve my query in a single line with simple instructions and a positive approach. Highly recommended on both fronts.

Really enjoy using Airmail - it’s such good value (3.3.2)

I really like this email client. It looks lovely, it feels really good to use, it’s stable, I have no problems with it. Support is great too - I received a response from David in less than 5 minutes solving my problem (which was down to me not exploring the settings properly). Emails are formatted nicely (endless problems with this from the big M’s client). The search and filtering function is good, but this could be even better by supporting even more detailed searches for different attributes. I’m actually blown away by the quality and the service you get for the price of this app - a one-off payment of £10, it’s an absolute bargain. My husband is paying £7/month for the big M’s client, and has so many really bad problems with it. I feel very lucky to have Airmail. Keep up the good work guys.

Escape from Outlook (3.3.2)
03/06/2017 01:06:34 5/5 By SansCulottes
I have moved to Mac after nearly 30 years of windows - finally had enough of hardware that grinds to a halt after a couple of years. The hardest issues to crack , for me, were task and email management. Airmail looks to have all the functions I need , and some, and the support from Stephen and Paul in getting me on the right track have been great. It links nicely with Things and together they look as if they will replace the Outlook I have used for years. Why change you ask. I moved to Office 365 fro Mac anticipating that this would be a seamless transfer from Office 2010 , possibly with some enhanced features. Unfortunately Microsoft , in their wisdom, have de-specced Outlook to the degree that it is not usable as a GTD tool. Airmail, linked with Things, looks to me to be a solution that will work. Thanks again to Stephen and Paul Have been using the app for a while now, and it does what I want - when used with Things and Evenrote it succesfully replaces Outlook. Support is excellent, and David , Sarah and Stephen all respond quickly and concisely. Great app - keep up the good work !

Responsive and Efficient Support (3.3.2)
02/06/2017 08:02:44 5/5 By martinms
Had a few questions regarding use of Airmail relating to creating labels / folders and smart-folders etc, questions that have been bugging me for quite some time. Didn’t realise actually it was easy to get technical support - not even need to dial a number. There is a chat system on the website, questions addressed with short snippets of documentation directly relevant to the questions asked. Really like the way things done here … - Also, thanks to David, the support rep who helped me with few questions I have. Keep up the good work.

Excellent Email App (3.3.2)
01/06/2017 14:14:00 5/5 By kleinzeit and archie
I’ve hated Apple default email client for a long time now. I tried to get on with it, but it spent most of the time I used it trying to sync eveerything to somewhere or other I didn’t want. I’m sure (not really sure) it’s got much better, but on a new MacOS install, or an update, it’s always one of the installed apps which gets deleted (Stickies, TimeMachine, Chess, Photo Booth - the others which get trashed, if you were wondering). This left a gap in the market for a Mail App. For a long time I just used the web apps for my accounts. However, I now have too many accounts (one for each of the three businesses I work for, plus some personal accounts) for this to work well. I tried several out, even the Mac Outlook App. Airmail is by far the most configurable, yet at the same time easiest to use. The only issue I have had was setting up Apple Mail, however, their support site is excellent and within half an hour I was up and running (it was a 2 step authentication thing). It seems really professionally supported with regular updates. Best of all though, it just lets me get on with my life and work, while it handles the email. Good work Airmail!

Update not possible (3.3.2)
01/06/2017 09:54:12 3/5 By yo daniel
I purchased v 3.2.1 a while ago, figured I’d check if there was an update; there is (3.3.2) but no obvious way to update; App Store says no updates available. So not ideal from that perspective. Generally find the app good but with some odd failings, eg periodically I’ll reply to a mail and the entire previous content of the chain is not shown. And if you use in Conversations mode, it’s not possible to delete individual messages within the chain.
