When Photos for OS X is available this spring, Aperture will no longer be available for purchase from the Mac App Store.

Aperture combines the control and speed pros want for demanding photo tasks with the easy learning curve iPhoto users need to step up to an advanced photo tool. It has been fully optimized for the Retina display on the new MacBook Pro, letting you browse and edit high-resolution images with remarkable clarity and resolution. And with a new unified photo library, you can now move seamlessly from iPhoto to Aperture —  and back — without having to import, export, or reprocess your photos. Aperture is packed with innovative adjustment tools to refine your images, including a revolutionary Auto White Balance that uses skin tones to correct color casts, and a professional Auto Enhance that applies Exposure, Vibrancy, Curves, and more with a single click. It also includes powerful Brushes for painting image adjustments onto parts of your photo, and dozens of ready-to-use professional photo Effects. You can share your photos directly to Facebook, Flickr and SmugMug and add them to shared photo streams using iCloud. You can also showcase your best work as an impressive coffee table-style photo book or as stunning slideshows that weave together photos, audio, text, and HD video.

Still in the Top Grossing Top Ten (3.6)
27/12/2014 15:44:00 2/5 By FrasSmith
Given that Apple are stopping support for Aperture it’s incredible that the application should remain in the top grossing top ten. Are people just unaware that this parrot is dead and not just pining for the fjords?

Terrific App. (3.6)

An excellent photo editing App, but long term development may be limited which is a shame.

Soon to be legacy (3.6)

My preferred software for managing my extensive library. But will not be supported by Apple for much longer so will migrate to Aperture.

Outstanding (3.6)
07/12/2014 21:23:00 5/5 By Divonnais
I recently invested in a new DSLR and was then faced with the issue of which software to buy for post-processing, as well as library management. I am an experienced photographer at the camera end, loved the 35mm film days, but have avoided buying s/w for the digital age so far. I tried Gimp, for example: incredibly powerful but utterly user unfriendly. I opted for Aperture for several reasons, the main one of which was I wanted a single package (unlike Adobe, in the less than full Photoshop world) that will do all I need. After a couple of weeks, running on Yosemite, I have been delighted. It’s fast, easy to use and recommendable. I know I still have a steep learning curve, but I am getting there with an enjoyable piece of software.

Aperure crashes (3.6)
02/12/2014 15:34:00 2/5 By Thecapnjack
Like many others who report here,I cannot import photos from Finder to Aperture. No pictures come on the screen to check and when I click a folder to open the photos nothing happens. Yesterday I had to force quit on shutdown. Am I doing something wrong or is it the latest Yosemiti update?

Almost broken in Yosemite (3.6)
01/12/2014 16:43:00 2/5 By J-C-C
I know that Apple have already discontinued Aperture, but I was hoping they’d leave it at least functional. I love Aperture and don’t want to switch, but the latest version is just too slow. Please fix it before you kill it completely Apple!

Very Very slow (3.6)

Since Yosemite this product is so so slow

Apple should be ashamed (3.6)
10/11/2014 19:03:00 1/5 By Morerottenapple
Upgraded to Yosemite and now cant export photographs as tiffs or jpegs . Perhaps the people who update software should understand that people work outside in the real world and to let cutomers down badly is a disgrace. 30 years a pro photography feel disgusted by apple.

Crap - complete waste of money (3.6)
09/11/2014 17:35:00 1/5 By i85
This things can’t even change the time zone on your photos, despite having such function available in the settings - just like any other apple app, this app is crap
