Evernote – stay organized

By Evernote
Supported Devices : Mac OS

Release Notes

11/04/2017 | Version : 6.11 | Size : 54.3 MB
Touch Bar support for the latest MacBook Pros allows quick access to key navigation and note editing commands.

We've fixed several issues people were having with notes:
- Search terms weren’t highlighted in notes for some searches
- Clicking on an attachment sometimes caused the note to scroll up, making it hard to open attachments
- Shift + arrow up or down did not highlight if the line above or below was blank
- Shift + enter did not create a non-bulleted line in a bulleted list
- Couldn’t delete the leftmost column in a table if the top cell is formatted
- Line breaks were unexpectedly removed after syncing some notes originally created on iPhone
- Content copied from a PDF sometimes could not be pasted into a note
- Applying Simplify Formatting to clipped notes removed returns
- If the last item in a list was blank, it disappeared when users navigated away and then back to the note
- Couldn’t remove indents from text in some notes created in earlier versions of Evernote
- In tables, if you triple clicked to select the content and then cut, you would be unable to focus on the cell
- If you added a new checklist item in the middle of an existing checklist, one character of a checklist item might be unexpectedly deleted

29/10/2016 | Version : 6.10 | Size : 54.1 MB
Important under the hood changes to the note editing experience lay the groundwork for even more improvements in the future.

Select functionality and crash issues.

05/10/2016 | Version : 6.9.2 | Size : 53.8 MB

Comments and Ratings for Evernote – stay organized

The greatest! (6.9.2)
23/10/2016 22:39:00 5/5 By obserious
When used with Web Clipper, Evernote is THE most powerful research aid you could possibly imagine. I keep it on my Dropbox account and can synch with all of my Macs as well as my iPhone. Tip: when researching, use your iPhone to snap the colophon of the book you are using and you’ll never be stuck for a reference again. Even better, use it to snap important diagrams and quotes so you get page references as well. I bought the premium version and am happy I did. Honestly, I can’t recommend this application highly enough.

Now with added ‘Upgrade to Premium’ pop-up nags (6.9.2)
16/10/2016 16:29:00 2/5 By donkeykong8
This app is a bombscare for Premium users. Pay £3.99 per month, an after upgrading to 6.9.2 I can no longer use Premium features. Having to open support tickets and post on forums etc because these clowns don’t QA their applications Getting ever closer to mass exporting and just dumping everything in Google Docs...

Notes, photos, scribble and more... (6.9.2)
07/10/2016 15:57:00 5/5 By Oski17
I’ve used Evernote for many years now and it’s simple a lifesaver! Create notes, URLs, add photos and voice recordings. Simple to categorise and group notes. With integrations from “Scannable” and “Penultimate” I can keep everything in one place. Love the feature to send emails to Evernote and automatically send them to the apropriate folder. Brilliant!

The Ultimate Organiser (6.9)
29/09/2016 18:45:00 5/5 By Conphused
The premium version of this software has been creeping up in price, but it really is the ‘Rolls-Royce’ of notebook programs. I have tried a variety of other platforms, and none of them have anywhere near the functionality of Evernote. I highly recommend it!

Customer service is does not exist (6.9)
26/09/2016 14:14:00 2/5 By BY44
I have simple questions. One in particular. How do I change the background color on Evernote? Can I find the answer? Oh no. Is there anyway to contact evernote about such a simple thing? Heavens no. I think Evernote would be very good to use if i could only get some help.

A Student Must Have !! (6.9)
24/09/2016 15:53:00 5/5 By thompson121
As a final year history student, this app is a must !! It is simple and easy to pick up and has allowed me to create a system that fully compliments my studies !

Awesome (6.9)

Evernote is awesome. Without it, I would be doomed—doomed I tell you! Download it today and start making your life easier and more organised.

Evernote is a superb business partner ! Its worth it weight in gold. (6.8)

I have to start this review, being utterly amazed at the few people leaving negative reviews because they don’t get the full features for nothing! Quite simply put we all have to make a living, and for a start have you ever seen the buildings full of servers that companies like Evernote have to keep fully maintained? That I can assure you is not cheap. Rant over,I Started using Evernote about 7 years ago,i used the free to start with and was so impressed I moved up to the fully paid version. Its web clipper is by far the best & most reliable. The whole application runs rock solid on my Macs and my iPad & iPhone (Galaxy Note 5 too for 4 months). Before you set anything up with Evernote, have an experiment, get to fully know how versatile it can be. To give an example, every single one of my customers has a Tag,when i gain a new one,I immediately create a new Tag.Then i have various ‘Notebooks” so when for example “The Bakery”send me a Remittance slip before payment,I create a new note and drag the remittance slip straight into the new new note title it , then Tag it & put in in customer Remittance Slips Note Book.I do the same with all purchases,Invoices sent etc etc.No matter where i am,I can access all my company vital information. You can set alarms on notes.I can got to a new job to look, flawlessly put 20 photos straight in a note for later reference when back at the computer. Its like having a hidden employee!! Thank You Evernote for being a great partner in business.

Great complement to OneNote (6.8)
21/08/2016 17:36:00 5/5 By Shrubber123
I went back and forth between OneNote and Evernote for a while but now I use both. Evernote is much better as a web clipper and is slightly more reliable. Opening and closing notebooks is easier than in OneNote (for example, you cannot change the name of a notebook in OneNote). Also, the ability to open multiple notes at the same time makes Evernote better for short simply tasks

I couldn’t live without Evernote (6.8)
11/08/2016 11:41:00 5/5 By anoldbaglady
For all subjects, the fact that I can import links into my filing is the most amazing thing about Evernote. Then there’s the search facility, whatever I want I can find at a moment’s notice. I use this beautiful app in a small way, but it would be totally amazing in a business setting. Well done, Evernote!

Kick in the teeth for long term supporters (6.8)
02/08/2016 20:27:00 1/5 By Dkdesign
What was once a great service has now been spoilt by greed, I totaly get they have to make money, but frankly holding free users to ransom is not the way to do it. Are Evernote really going to save that much by limiting free users to syncing on only 2 devices? I doubt it, it just comes across as a synical way to get people who are embeded in the Evernote eco-system to pay for something they were getting for free, surely any business would have forcasts in place to predict the impact of offering a free service, long before it came to this. This move just makes the free account look like a huge pre-planned lure, and that comes across as being a little underhand. I think with this move Evernote have done themselves no favours, and as a previous premium subscriber it seems like a stab in the back.

Used to use it - but not now !!! (6.8)
28/07/2016 00:15:00 1/5 By Fibre man
I used to use this to keep fairly simple notes (just text, URLs, and so on, nothing complex) but I accessed it from 5 devices (my mac, my iphone, my work PC, my work iphone, and my ipad). Now after several yeats they want to charge. I switched away and have two solutions working well, just choosing between them. Either choose MS One Note which works well, or possibly better choose Google Keep which is probably the best alternative. Both are free and offer access from multiple devices. After several years loyalty I have now switched from Evernote - I just cannot justify the high price they want just to keep a few simple notes. Bye bye evernote !!

Why on earth charge for this app? (6.8)
26/07/2016 15:42:00 1/5 By shirt11
I have been a long term Evernote fan but have just had to delete the app off three of my devices as the developers want to charge me for having more than 2 devices carrying the app. So silly. The trend these days is to have all your information available on whatever device you happen to be using but due to bottom line needs (no doubt the excuse the developers will use if I bother to remonstrate) Evernote don’t want me to continue to be able to do this. Suspect this will be the beginning of the end for this app as others move with the times and understand customers come first not profits. No customers no profits. Bye bye Evernote.

RIP Evernote (6.7.1)
13/07/2016 17:21:00 1/5 By Landshark2007
The new licensing/subscription model has put the final nail in this app’s coffin. Limiting the use to 2 devices and then ramping the subscription options is simply holding existing users to ransom. I chose to dump Evernote from all the systems and use Pocket Informant and Notability instead. None of the subscription nonsense and no device limitations. It took half a day to migrate from years of Evernote notes to the two target apps, but the rewards were worth it. Always sad to see apps die off due to new management decisions, but it does pave the way for others to captialise on the process so there is an upside!

useless (6.7.1)
13/07/2016 14:17:00 1/5 By Derpy Bean
why can we only use evernote on up to 2 devices!???! it used to be much higher than this and now you have to pay to get the features you once had FOR FREE! As a student I can’t afford evernote premium so instead of forcing people to pay for features that were once free how about you be innovative and think of MORE features that people will want to pay for. I’m going back to the default ios notes app as it is now available on more devices and it has the same uses for FREE! sort it out evernote, this is ridiculous!

Two stars until you stop badgering me to upgrade! (6.7.1)
04/07/2016 10:57:00 2/5 By dacrownjewlz
Seriously, this is great software and I am really enjoying it’s features. So much so that I upgraded to PLUS after a lot of thought about the features I need. Plus is fine for me - it’s fits me perfectly and it’s my choice to stay with it. So WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY do you ruin my experience with this software by CONSTANTLY badgering me to upgrade to premium??? Can I not make my own decision when I am ready?? It’s very insulting that you don’t think I can make a decision when I am ready. Yes - fine, I understand if you want to inform me and I click a checkbox and the message goes away. Just like other non nag-ware products. But not with you guys. Your software is still nag-ware even after I have upgraded to Plus! I repeat - it’s insulting, it’s annoying and it shows that you cannot trust your customers to upgrade WHEN THEY FEEL THEY WOULD BENEFIT FROM THE UPGRADE. Sort this out and you will get 5 stars from me, because everything else about Evernote, I love.

The Best Notes App In The World (6.7.1)
30/06/2016 16:23:00 5/5 By Sermilion
I am an Evernote user since 2009 and I still have all the notes that I took since. I never lost a single one, I can find any specific note I need. It is just the best app for saving notes and it is beautiful.

Also having the Update issue (6.7.1)
19/06/2016 13:46:00 4/5 By KJ Park
My installed version is 6.6.1, so this IS a later version if the version numbers are to be believed. My app thinks so, certainly, as it has a prompt that links directly to this page in the App Store. But once here, there’s no option to update. I can cycle enlessly between the Open button in the App Store and the Update now button in Evernote for Mac.

The Perfect App (6.7.1)
17/06/2016 11:40:00 5/5 By Night crawler 1478
This App is Brillaint, it does everything you will ever need.

Update? what update?!! (6.7.1)
14/06/2016 03:01:00 4/5 By oddjones
What the other reviewer said about the update nag -> takes you to the app store where there’s no update - Doesn’t seem to be mentioned anywhere on the Evernote support site this one.

Keeps saying there’s an update when there isn’t one (6.7.1)

Seriously. Co-ordinate people

Top Quality (6.7.1)
09/06/2016 11:19:00 5/5 By AndyBarton1
This is an essential piece of software for all devices you use. Sync is seemless & I store all my useful info in Evernote & have done for since 2009. The first app I download whenever I get a new device.

THIS IS THE ONE! (6.6.1)
17/05/2016 19:41:00 5/5 By Glovdi.com
I have used every single of piece of software that does more or less what evernote is supposed to do and EVERNOTE is the most neat, the most well-designed and useful from all! I have been using it for more than 2 weeks now, and I would definetely going to buy Plus or Premium as it helps me to organise my notes and especially the functionality of photos, links, contacts, etc, and the option to format everything makes me feel more organised and confident. The thing that made me say WOW was when I copied and paste a snipped of code from IntelliJ to Evernote in order to remember it and re-use it in my code as I am a software engineer, and..... the result is miles better than any professional snipped code software as it saves the snippet as an image and I can benefit 110% from this! Thank you Evernote guys and keep the good work on! A real geek guy that you helped, Thanks a lot

seamless productivity (6.6.1)
16/05/2016 09:23:00 5/5 By pink_doggies
I too use Evernote across all my devices and provides me with easy access to all my notes and documents. I find Evernote to be very intuitive and easy to understand. Plus, and this is a big plus, Evernote integrates perfectly with my ScanSnap Scanner so I can scan straight into the Evernote application. Within just a few minutes a 20 page document is available across all devices. Searching is very strong and if you pay for Evernote membership all documents are scanned by Evernote for OCR so every documents becomes searchable.

Love it, love it, love it (6.6.1)
04/05/2016 20:44:00 5/5 By Hypno Mark
I use Evernote across all of my devices (iPhone, MacBook Air, iPad and Windows 10 laptop) and I cannot now live without it. I use the Pro version so that all my devices have a hard copy saved. I use it for both personal and business use and i've integrated it into both Safari and Google Chrome to gather website articles. Of all of the interfaces I use, I have found the Mac OS X version the clearest to use. Although they are all similar, the OS X version feels the cleanest and user friendliest version. I cannot rate it enough.

A true ‘can’t live without’ app that keeps on getting better. (6.6)
12/04/2016 12:57:00 5/5 By DigSea
Almost my entire life is organised out of Evernote. How anyone in this day and age can live without it, I don’t know! Just get it and upgrade to Pro to support it’s continued development.

Nope. (6.6)

I’ve had Evernote for little over a year now and I wonder how I survived without it! The application is easy to use and very useful. I go on it every day to write stuff and because I can get it on my phone and iPad it is really easy to move across devices. It’s a really good application.

Useful and comfortable (6.5)
