Every time you move a content from one app to the other, compare data side by side or multitask in any other way, you need all the windows arranged accordingly. Magnet makes this process clean and simple.
In one drag to the edge, you size a window into half of your screen. And by dragging windows to the corners, you snap them into quarters. Slide them to the bottom edge of your display to create thirds. Taking advantage of such arrangements eliminates app switching and greatly enhances workspace efficiency.
Magnet supports keyboard shortcuts as well, for every command it has to offer. There is that little icon sitting in the Menu Bar where you can find a predefined set or create yours.
・Left/Right/Top/Bottom Halves of the screen supported
・Left/Center/Right Thirds of the screen supported
・Left Two Thirds & Right Two Thirds of the screen supported
・Fullscreen & all four Quarters of the screen supported
・Activated by dragging (optional)
・Activated by keyboard shortcuts (customizable)
・Operated via Menu Bar icon
・Runs both on Retina and regular displays
・Up to six external displays supported
・Built to run on all macOS versions since 10.9 Mavericks
・macOS 10.12 Sierra optimized

Comments and Ratings for Magnet
Works like a charm! (1.10)
5/5 By Rich11c
This is a great app and a must for any Mac OS. I was using cinch for a number of years until i found this app. Everything just works, improved work flow. Every window snaps into place as intended.
5/5 By Makkersjnr
This app does what it says!
If i had to describe how this works comparason to comparason i would say it is better than windows snapping features, and this app isnt even that expensive.
Deffently worth every penny.
Amazing. Essential for a user coming from Windows (1.10)
5/5 By MCIGN:eob2000
Just got my first MacBook and one of the first things I missed from windows was the ability to snap windows to the edges of the display. Found this app reduced to £0.79. I bought it and have been amazed so far. Works flawlessly and exactly like Windows 7 does. I often forget its an app and not native macOS
BEWARE: Wacom Cintiq Users (1.10)
2/5 By Mediabär
I am using a Macbook Pro (end 2015 model) and a Wacom Cintiq 22” HD Touch. When having Magnet opened and letting the Macbook go to sleep for a prolonged time, Magnet makes the Macbook Screen fail (weird black and grey patterns with pixelated arrows). Happened all the time after Magnet installation and seized to happen after deinstallation.
As I am slowly creating a cateract in my healthy eye, I am dependent on my Wacom Cintiq for working and therefore any application, which creates disturbances, distrub my workflow.
Might be useful, but Wacom Users should beware!
Love it even more than I had hoped (1.10)
5/5 By K.jl.Tucker
I purchased this as I spend a lot of time on my 27” iMac with different windows open and was constantly moving them round.
Magent works perfectly every single time, now a key part of my work flow. As mentioned in another review Adobe CC apps don’t seem to work but I can work around that.
Not a requirement but it would be brilliant to be able to save custom positions (e.g. give Chrome 2/3 of the screen and Messages the other 1/3)
Needs more customisation options (1.10)
4/5 By Stu Greenham
I found the app useful but instantly switched back to Moom mainly because it offered me customisation and the ability to padd the applications away from the screen. I am not a fan of complete edge to edge windows. With Moom I can set a px gap that gets added and it makes scanning the windows so much easier.
Finally app docking for mac! (1.10)

This really is a god send, you become so used to this function in other OS’s you don’t realise how much time and hassle it saves. Great price, great app. So far no problems whatsoever
Super little app (1.10)
5/5 By Benodo
The only thing good about the Windows experience is now possible with this application. I wouldn’t go without it.
5/5 By So sad Alan
Perhaps the most useful app I have acquired. It makes working on multiple applications so simple. Particular good when you in learning as you can switch from a educational video to an app to try something in one click.
Everyone should have one.
5/5 By Malc203
Excellewnt little app. Does exactly what it says. Most useful tool to have.
Simple, effective, beautifully subtle (1.10)
5/5 By Russell___
I’ve found myself using this app on a daily basis. It’s simple, does exactly what is says on the tin and it’s beautifully subtle in it’s design. You’d be silly not to get it!
Should be part of OSX as standard, but feels like it is... (1.10)
5/5 By Chickengf
So so slick and simple. Why apple don’t put this functionality into OSX i will never understand. But I have this, so I don’t care!
Intuitive to the point you hardly realise it’s an app (1.10)
5/5 By Wookster
This is the most subtle, powerful, unimposing, useful, intuitive and effective tool I have on my notebook. It’s so prevalent in the background of everything I do at home, I find myself doing the keyboard shortcuts on my Windows machine at work, sadly without effect, but I use it at home almost without realising I’m using it. Terrific software for a great price - well worth paying for the convenience of not having to click and drag etc. Thanks.
Brings the one missing function to OSX (1.10)
5/5 By Runforitmarty
Great app. Really makes working a lot easier. Brings the one thing that was missing/annoying about OSX. Really glad to have found it.
Great little app, please implement third screen sizes as well for 4k monitors (1.10)
5/5 By Vejko
I am very happy with this app. It is very useful, but we desperetaly need third / forth screen sizes for 4k screens.
5/5 By Cranloch15
Use it now without even thinking about it. Very helpful app.
Great app! (1.10)
5/5 By matte123
I love this - it makes it so much easier to get things in the right place on the screen. Should have been part of the original design of mac os.
Not flawless, but still very useful (1.10)
4/5 By andy987654321
I’ve encountered bugs occasionally, however it’s still a great piece of software. Mac use without it was painful...
Just works (1.10)
5/5 By Mike A Z
Solid as a rock, never crashes, etc. Does exactly what I need it to do. One cool new feature could be the ability to not have an icon appear in the menu bar so that it runs completely in the background. Could be a tick box in the settings.
Why isn’t this built into Mac OS by default? (1.10)
5/5 By FFFFFFFAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!
This is the main thing I miss about Windows and Linux; it makes serious (software development) work bearable in Mac OS.
Great App - Improvement Suggestion (1.10)
4/5 By chrisholden84
A great app, well executed, reliable and slick. As many have commented, it should be built into MacOS as standard.
A suggested improvement would be the ability to add 1 or 2 custom positions within the screen space, selectable from the dropdown menu bar as say “custom 1” or “custom 2” etc.
To do this, place the window in the desired screen position and click “add custom window position”, give it a name, and from then on, any window that’s selected and “custom 1” clicked on, jumps to that custom set screen position.
I’m not a fan of always pushing every window to the outer edges, I’d be nice to nest newly composed emails at the right hand mid point (for example).
Just an idea. With custom positions it’d make this an indispensible 5 star app
Very useful (1.10)

Handy if you’re an editor or web developer!
Plugging the only difference between mac and pc (1.10)
5/5 By David Seitler
The only thing i like better about my pc is the ability to ‘snap’ the size of a window to either half the screen or all the screen.
This app does exactly that,
couldnt recomend it more
thanks so much!!
A very handy extra (1.10)
5/5 By Pugster108
This is a neat way of making your screen better organised. Very useful.
Absolutely brilliant (1.10)
5/5 By Sunapics
Wouldn’t be without it - saves all the hassle of positioning and resizing windows, though I can still adjust if I really want to.
Makes mac windows work similar to win 7 windows (1.10)

Makes sense does the job. 5 Stars…..
5/5 By swingled
Just one of those core essential tools that makes the working environment so much smoother. Been using it for years now and it’s been rock solid and reliable.
Great app (1.10)
5/5 By myzu
Why this isn’t built into the OS I’ll never know, thankfully there are people out there to fill the gap!
Great bit of software. (1.10)

Not a complicated idea but executed extremely well. One of those peices of software that you wonder how you ever lived without.
Couldn’t imagine using a mac without it (1.10)
5/5 By d_dylanroberts
This app works perfectly with mac, its so much easier than manually having to resize windows. I use it instinctively now and couldn’t imagine using a mac without it. Only problems is that it doesn’t work with some third party programs like the adobe products, other than that it’s perfect.
