Numbers is not vey good if your used to working with excel. i am used to working with a windows operating system and have just upgraded to an iMac. i find the whole experience very difficult. i wish i hadnt wasted my money on this product.

I don't like it, at all…. (2.3)

Coming from a windows computer using Excel to this was a very big mistake. Apple you should be ashamed!

Great (2.3)

Works perfectly for me, excellent for sorting out budgets. Charts work well too - I wonder if the people complaining about it being slow are using it in Snow Leopard. Apple introduced a new 3D engine called the Scene Kit Framework in Lion/Mountain Lion, which apps such as Numbers/Keynote etc use to generate the graphics in the charts. This means that if you are using Snow Leopard to view charts then it will perform badly as it does not have the scene kit framework. Answer - upgrade to Mountain Lion.

Works just as I wanted it to (2.3)

Made the transition to Numbers from Excel recently and this product has done exactly as promised and wanted it to. Nice and sinple and far less expensive that purchasing Microsoft Office again to replace for the Mac.

3D Charts Extremely slow (2.3)
28/01/2013 11:03:00 2/5 By AntonyKancidrowski
I am amazed at just how slow the 3D charts are within Numbers. I have a Mid 2011 iMac with a 2.8GHz Core i7 processor, 16Gb 1333 MHz DDR3 RAM, AMD Radeon HD 6770M 512 MB Graphics and I have to wait for simple bar graphs and pie charts to display when rendered in 3D Changing to 2D graphs is so quick you can say it is instant. Is this the best that Apple can do!? I'd be extremely embarrassed with this performance in my applications.

Don't waste your money (2.3)

So i tried to rotate the text at the top of a table by 90 degrees so i could fit it all into one page. Turns out after paying £13 for a spreadsheet program you cant rotate the text within a cell by 90 degrees. Someone seriously needs to get sacked in software development.

A bargain at £13.99, but in my experience good for nothing BIGGER than the examples apple show us anyway. Sales of honey… or tracking your laps in the pool... However, try to use, or even dare to chart, a sheet of 1000 points or more - and suddenly the beach ball of death becomes more frequent and the application becomes unusable. 1000 points is not a lot. Recently had to do the simplest chart imaginable on 10,000 data points (No formulas and no changes to the numbers at all) and Numbers just can't hack it. It's been perfect for day to day usage - but if you need it for anything more serious in scale then avoid it. I'm buying Office, the whole thing, just to avoid this one problem.

Still need Excel (2.2)

I've used spreadsheets for years some are very complicated with macros and some are basic. after getting Numbers for my iphone I found the app was difficult to use as a creation so I decided to take the plunge and buy numbers for the mac. To be honest I'm dissappointed first of all iOS app has a very good interface by using Forms this enables you to enter the data quicker into the table but when you sync to the Mac all the forms arn't supported but what is worse the forms are deleted and you have to start again, this needs sorting out. Numbers doesn't seem to support time calculations you have to create a sheet differently to Excel but if you export it to Excel error messages are shown and the calculation isn't supported. I recently downloaded a Mortage calculation sheet to Excel worked on it then saved it to Numbers so I could edit it on my iphone but the sheet simply couldn't be loaded at all. I think the layout is better once you've got used to the differences but you end up getting frustrated trying to find how to do it. If Apple want to take on the World for its software then it needs to be fully compatable with Excel and needs a massive upgrade to bring it into line with Excel and iOS. I love would Apple to do this then I can gloat to all my colleagues but sadly this is not the case at the moment.

Get Excel, much better! (2.2)

Awful compared to Excel, no option to produce a trend line (which is very basic), general chart plotting procedures are made too complicated, generally the whole thing is too 'messy'. Get Excel, it just works.

Much better than Excel ! (2.2)

If you need to use Numbers to create charts and spreadshits and not so complicated calculation so this is your best option ! With Numbers you can create much better layout with a much better UI. Love it !
