OneDrive is the one place for everything in your life. It gives you free online storage for all your personal files, so you can access them from your Mac and any other devices you use – iPhone, iPad, PC, Windows Phone or Android. With OneDrive for Business, you also get storage for your work files so you can share and collaborate on them with other people at your work or school/university. The OneDrive app for Mac makes it easy to work with your OneDrive files on your Mac:

•Access your OneDrive files directly from the Finder, including attachments that you’ve saved to OneDrive from, and documents and spreadsheets that you’ve created from Office Online.
•Work with your OneDrive files even when you’re offline. Your changes will sync automatically the next time you’re online.
•Choose the folders in your OneDrive that you want to sync on your Mac.
•Add several files or folders to OneDrive at a time by dragging them to the OneDrive folder. By putting your files in OneDrive, you can access them from anywhere and have a backup in case something happens to your computer.
•Easily open, edit and create docs and other files in OneDrive from applications such as Word or Excel.

Comments and Ratings for OneDrive

Great app (17.3.6798)
03/05/2017 15:05:10 5/5 By Meta-Master
keep up the good work :)

Not a viable tool for easy collaboration (17.3.6798)
28/04/2017 06:31:04 1/5 By Dibsdalec
With one drive it is not possible to mount any shared folders, from other people in my organisation on my MAC. This is a MAJOR shortfall for small businesses where easy effortless collaboration is vital. Drop Box works more effectively.

Very Good Application (17.3.6798)
22/04/2017 02:49:59 5/5 By oliver webster
It’s a very good application in my opinion. I’ve not had any issues with it, syncs my files between macbook and cloud seamlessly.

Installed and rubbish. (17.3.6798)
21/04/2017 15:36:53 1/5 By eurisko2000
All I can do with this app is Quit it. I can’t even tell it where my OneDrive is, plus it has a problem with the MacOS keychain. So as I have 1TB of data on it and (as it’s my laptop) a larger SSD than remains on the internal storage I can’t configure it. Jeez, Dropbox have been doing this successfully for years so why MS seem to have such a big problem with it. FFS it’s only syncing OneDrive CLOUD storage and it hasn’t been working for ages and they still haven’t fixed it. This is not a complicated issue, I just want to specify where the OneDrive folder is so then OneNote will work as well (and I can indicate what I want copied locally.

Getting to where it should be (17.3.6798)
13/04/2017 06:01:59 4/5 By Adelphos195
One drive is slowly over time becoming the app it should be. This is coming from a PC, Mac and iPhone user who uses this as my main daily work backup. Phone integration and photo sync. 1Tb of storage with an Office 365 annual subscription and you can backup all your important work. Only negatives would be character realated due to the limit imposed on file names and the file name restrictions of certain characters.

Bricked my iMac! (17.3.6798)
10/04/2017 03:24:46 1/5 By Donny Yates
Came back to work to find my iMac unusable because OneDrive was using all my memory (63GB!). I hadn’t even changed any files! If I didn’t have to use it for work I would have deleted it a long time ago.

Still not compatible with Macs (17.3.6798)
03/04/2017 14:31:23 1/5 By NouschF
My App still won’t launch on my Mac. I look forward to when this is resolved.

It’s good (17.3.6798)
03/04/2017 04:29:28 5/5 By John 'toe clips McCain' Cain
Yes, the One Drive works very well. I actually got 250GB free so it was worth me using this instead of iCloud Drive. But, When I bought my iMac I didn’t quite understand that by choosing iCloud to log into my computer, I would automatically be saving any work (documents, etc) to the iCloud and this includes One Drive documents, etc. Obviously, the iCloud storage was used up very quickly. However, The One Drive is very good.

Superb (17.3.6798)
30/03/2017 12:07:24 5/5 By MurphS2010
Works fantastically well. Helps me share and synchronise my files between all my devices.

Almost there (17.3.6798)
29/03/2017 08:07:28 3/5 By Beakergoesmeepmeep
Finally this seems to be at a point that it is usable, just about. Succesfully synced 402GB of files in a reasonable (but not quick compared to others) time, previously I gave up after it was about 10% through after a week on fibre braodband connection. However last two small files have been several days spinning with onedrive showing “Syncing 2 files 0.0k of 25.4MB” no progress and nothing to say what the files are.

Works great, highly recommended (17.3.6798)
27/03/2017 03:59:34 5/5 By Steve.RedFox
I really don’t know why the other reviewiers are having such a bad experience. OneDrive for Mac is a great app that sits in the background quietly syncing my files from my phone and other computers. If I snap a photograph on my phone, it will be on my Mac often in under a minute, it’s great.

Terrible, does not open, does not work (17.3.6798)
27/03/2017 03:53:37 1/5 By Olly-91
Again another example of microsft and apple not working together! The promised update was meant to work but now the app will not even open to even get satrted and set up a simple sinc between Microsoft sharepoint and onedrive. Awful! PLEASE SORT IT OUT BOTH OF YOU!

Cool App (17.3.6798)
25/03/2017 10:03:26 5/5 By PraveenMathew
Cool App

Does what it says it will. (17.3.6798)
25/03/2017 06:21:14 5/5 By A view.
I use 365/Onedrive across a range of devices (both Windows and IOS)and also the Net interface. Works well, uupdates without a problem and means I can access what I need, where I need. It also provides masses of storage for each user. Makes life and work easier.

Does what it says on the tin (17.3.6798)
24/03/2017 06:28:40 5/5 By mauvedeity
My employer uses Office 365 and OneDrive for collaboration, so I’ve installed it for my own use and for using my laptop under our BYOD programme. I’ve found that OneDrive works absolutely fine. In fact, it’s quite dull - you set it up and it just works. It ticks away synching things on its own, no messing about. It’s actually dull - it just works and that’s all you can say about it. One really handy feature is that you can have two accounts configured if you want, so for work I have both my personal and business accounts configured. That just creates two sync folders. The only issue is that the “Open folder” is inconsistent - on one of my two folders it opens the actual sync folder, but the other one only points to the folder in Finder. Weird but not a big issue. If you have a Microsoft account, then OneDrive is a handy tool for sharing data and keeping work up to date across machines.

Not easy to use (17.3.6798)
19/03/2017 10:12:21 1/5 By Hedgehog John
OneDrive has barely any storage and doesn’t always work :-(

Problem when using personal and Office 365 account (17.3.6798)
18/03/2017 03:31:23 2/5 By Andreas Moller
I have a hotmail and Office 365 account. The two are seperate and I can use both on a Windows Machine, but not a MAC. I have been using one drive for quite some time with my hotmail account only, but now there is a problem after my work rolled out Office 365. I cannot access personal store on my personal MAC, even after “forgetting” the office 365 account. Not GREAT

it’s not working (17.3.6798)
17/03/2017 10:51:16 1/5 By SP2304
Hello to the app developer and whoever has been put in charge of its maintenance and up-keep. Just to let you know the app isn’t working. It isn’t loading up on mac computers. Kindly do something abiout this asap as people have files stored and need to get on with work. Many thanks.

Getting better, Office file handling not elegant (17.3.6798)
17/03/2017 09:49:14 5/5 By knigma
Getting much more reliable. Shame that Office applications don’t identify that a locally syncronised file is actually hosted on Sharepoint. Some of the collaboration features don’t seem to work propertly if the file is opened from the local copy as opposed to be opened directly from Sharepoint.

Oh no it’s not! (17.3.6798)
15/03/2017 07:02:55 1/5 By theis uk
Just downloaded the app again having seen the review indicating it appears to be working, at last. Unfortunately still getting the “there is a problem with your account” messages, OneDrive does not open, or if it does, it’s impossible to see what the darned thing is doing. Just seems to keep popping up with the same message and to be honest i’m sick of having to repeatedly sign in to the app. I’ll just use the web site to keep my files up to date, at least I know I’m doing it. Shoddy Microsoft. Apple, please check apps work before setting them loose on your customers.

New version seems to be working (17.3.6798)
13/03/2017 04:47:23 4/5 By BobTeddyImages
I had avoided downloading the OneDrive sync app for a while as the majority of reviews said to not bother as it did no work. I’m pleased to report that this version apears to be working just fine. I don’t have a large amount of files stored (about a gig), but by the time I’d set up a favourite for the folder, and navigated to it, all my files had synced.

Very happy with One Drive. Now want to move to a company Share Drive and find it a bit confusing

Excellent Cross Platform Storage Solution (17.3.6783)

Very happy with the product. Keep improving...

no longer works (17.3.6783)
03/03/2017 15:03:00 1/5 By Marc115uk
Worked well with busness account untill update now it will download files from OneDrive account but will not upload anything left on for hours on end uninstalled reinstalled many times with no luck. still works with personal accounts very dissapointed

Waste of time (17.3.6783)
01/03/2017 09:18:00 1/5 By mapman3
Tried repeatedly to get this to work uninstall/install 5+ times same issue every time: Downloads files on starting the app then won’t sync again Never uploads files to the web storage. By all means try it yourself but be warned. I guess Onedrive is as bug ridden as Office 2016 for Mac.

It works great until it hangs in syncing and slows your computer to a crawl! (17.3.6783)
28/02/2017 09:54:00 2/5 By Dinkumschnauger
I have used the Onedrive mac app happily for many months but recently it has started causing my laptop to hang, so much so that my only option is to restart the machine! Please fix this MS.

Works flawlessly (17.3.6783)
27/02/2017 05:58:00 5/5 By georob1
No issues so far, just wish they’d add placeholders again like they once had in Windows 8

Great Asset to Any Home (17.3.6783)
25/02/2017 23:57:00 5/5 By JayinOldCatton
Great cloud storage solution. Works best with 365 (which is overpriced IMO).

still a beta product (17.3.6783)
16/02/2017 01:29:00 1/5 By optklm
Still gets stuck in an endless loop of processing files, usually when computer wakes from sleep. Have to quit and reopen to force a refresh.

better now (17.3.6783)
