SiteSucker is a Macintosh application that automatically downloads Web sites from the Internet. It does this by asynchronously copying the site's webpages, images, PDFs, style sheets, and other files to your local hard drive, duplicating the site's directory structure.

SiteSucker can be used to make local copies of Web sites. By default, SiteSucker "localizes" the files it downloads, allowing you to browse a site offline, but it can also download sites without modification.

Comments and Ratings for SiteSucker

A really fantastic app (2.10.3)

I can’t praise SiteSucker highly enough. It does brilliantly exactly what it’s supposed to do - download complete websites for offline use. Rick has been amazing, too, in providing further support personally. If the system allowed me to award 10 stars, I’d do it.

Excellent (2.10.1)

I struggled for years with a couple of free downloaders, eventually giving up on them. I balked at paying £20 or £40 for a program to do it. But £5 invested in SiteSucker is well worth it. Bye-bye freeware and abandonware, it’s good to give money to an active developer. The price is right and more than anything else it just gets the job done. Five stars and five quid, it works just right.

Dear God…..OH… maybe not (2.10)

This is a super-simple way to pull down a static version of a dynamic site, either for backup or for reference when mothballing the original. I’ve used this for a dozen or so projects and never had an issue, although it does pay to spend a little time configuring the file download settings first.

It didn’t work as expected and has three main flaws. (2.8.4)

The app concept is great. Also, the app is cheap, but it didn’t work as expected and has three main flaws. 1. It is not easy to configure the app to download sites and the app manual and website are really poor and don’t provide enough instructions on how to configure the app. It really takes time to find the right settings to download a specific site. These settings may or may not work with another site. 2. I bought this app to download some files from a specific site. The site is password protected (I have an account and I have my own password). The app developer sent me the instructions for passord protected sites. The instructions didn’t work at all. 3. The app needs technical information to download a site. And again the app manual/help is not informative.

Very happy with product and service (2.8.3)

Product didn’t do a full site capture initially so asked for help. Got a detailed response from Rick, implimented changes (settings adjustments) - everything downloaded fine. So, not only good product, excellent tech support service. Happily recommend this product.

Worked fine first time, easy to use (2.7)

This has saved our bacon a couple of times. Very useful little app for web devs.

Great little tool! (2.6.1)

Saved my life on a few occasions, when you don’t have time to set up a scraper with say Python or PHP, or when your usual methods aren’t working. I’ve used this for so many things, SEO, porting static templates from one CMS to another quickly. Really handy.

Perfect - faster than mucking about in the terminal (2.6)

Needed to grab a html manual from manufacturer’s site - £2.99 for piece of mind and saving a load of manual (excuse the pun) effort checking if curl / wget was setup properly. Downloaded ˜5mb of deeply nested html in seconds, and perfectly. Highly recommended.

Fantastic for me (2.5.3)

Bought this to download one specific site which may go offline soon. Very easy to use. Installed and running in minutes. Downloaded whole site in seconds. Very impressive indeed.

From this dev.
