*** APPLE DESIGN AWARD WINNER 2017 ***

HERE’S HOW THINGS WORKS

If you’re new to Things, this is the basic workflow:

1. Collect Your Thoughts
Get things off your mind quickly: no matter what app you’re in, a keyboard shortcut instantly reveals Quick Entry. Type your thoughts and save them to the Inbox. Or just talk to Siri on any device (“Remind me to...”) and import from Reminders.

2. Get Organized
Create a project for each of your goals, then add the steps to reach them. For clarity, add structure with headings. Then group your projects by areas of responsibility, such as “Family”, “Work”, or “Health”. Review these regularly to stay on top of things.

3. Plan Your Time
See your calendar events alongside your to-dos and plan your time effectively. Create repeating to-dos for things you do every few days, weeks, or months – Things will remind you on the right day.

4. Make the Most of Your Day
Every morning, grab a coffee and prepare your list for “Today”: review previously planned to-dos and make quick decisions on what to tackle. Pick some more steps from your projects and then get going. The Today list is the only place you’ll need to look for the rest of the day.

5. Customize Your Workflow
Use tags to categorize your to-dos or add context. For example, tag places like “Office” or “Home”, or tag all your “Errands”, or everything you’re working on with “Kate”. You can easily find everything you’ve tagged via filtering or search.

HERE’S WHY WE THINK YOU’LL LOVE THINGS

1. It stays out of your way.
As you start using Things, you’ll quickly notice how seamlessly all the features fit together to give you an uncluttered, focused experience. There are no unnecessary frills. No pointless gimmicks or useless controls. In fact, you’ll hardly notice the app – it’s just you and your to-dos.

2. Everything revolves around your to-dos.
In Things, each of your to-dos are special. In a list, they simply show a checkbox and the title of your to-do. But when you open them, they extend into a beautiful white piece of paper that’s ready to hold your thoughts. Additional details (checklists, tags, reminders, deadline) are nicely tucked away in the corner until you need them.

3. It’s got a touch of magic.
Things removes friction in magical ways. As an example, take Type Travel, a remarkable new way to navigate your lists. You just start typing where you want to go – the name of any project, area, or to-do – and instantly you’re transported there. Or look at the Natural Date Input – just type “Tom(orrow)”, “Sat(urday)”, “in fou(r days)”, “Au(gust 1)”., and it will jump to all the right conclusions.

4. It’s got all the power of macOS.
Things is fully integrated with all the latest macOS technologies: Touch Bar, Today Widget, Calendars, Siri & Reminders, Share Extension, Handoff, and AppleScript.

5. And much more...
Everyone’s got their favorite feature, it’s impossible to list them all. See what our users love about Things – visit our website at: thingsapp.com

—— New in 3.0.0 ——

• ALL-NEW DESIGN
How it looks, how it works, and how it feels – Things has been completely redesigned, with more clarity, improved workflows, better structure, and delightful animations. It’s a to-do list like no other.

• PROJECT HEADINGS
It’s so much easier to handle your projects now that you can break them up with headings. Use them to create categories, milestones, or whatever you need – just give each one a name and drag your to-dos underneath. Instantly you’ve got a nice, clean structure for your list, and the plan becomes perfectly clear.

• CHECKLISTS
Some things take several steps to complete but don’t require a full-blown project. Now you can use Checklists to break down the finer details of a to-do. Use them for shopping lists, when packing your bag for a trip, or to detail a process at work so you won’t miss a critical step.

• CALENDAR INTEGRATION
Display calendar events alongside your to-dos and stay on top of your schedule. They will show at the top of your Today list, and for each day in Upcoming, where you plan the week ahead.

• PLAN YOUR DAY – WITH TODAY AND THIS EVENING
Once you’ve made your plan, the Today list is your go-to place for all daily activities. Calendar events now display at the top, giving an outline of your schedule. Your to-dos follow, with a discrete section at the bottom called This Evening for things you’ll get to later in the day.

• PLAN YOUR WEEK – WITH UPCOMING
Plan your week ahead with the new Upcoming list. It shows everything on your agenda for the coming days: scheduled to-dos, repeating to-dos, deadlines, and calendar events. A quick peek at this list is all it takes to stay on top of your schedule.

• JUMP START
Working with dates is super easy with the new Jump Start date selector. Use it to quickly put to-dos in your Today list, schedule them for later, or put them on hold in Someday.

• NATURAL LANGUAGE RECOGNITION
Jump Start has a magical ingredient: Natural Language Recognition. It smartly detects what you’re typing to work out what you mean... “Tom(orrow)”, “Sat(urday)”, “in fou(r days)”, “Au(gust 1)”. As you can see, it jumps to all the right conclusions.

• REMINDERS
One of Things’ most-requested features is now here: time-based reminders! You can add a reminder by typing (natural language recognition), or just speak to Siri. For those to-dos you absolutely cannot miss, reminders will give you peace of mind.

• TYPE TRAVEL
Search and navigation in Things is now extremely fast, with Type Travel. All you need to do is start typing – the name of a list, to-do, or tag – and instantly you’re taken there. It’s magic!

• SLIM MODE
Collapse your sidebar with a two-finger swipe to cut out distractions and focus on your work. This is great when you’re working in Split View, or if you just need more room on your screen.

• MULTIPLE WINDOWS
You can now open multiple projects in their own windows and drag to-dos back and forth between them to organize with ease. Or use them across multiple displays, desktop spaces, or split views – whatever suits your personal workflow.

Comments and Ratings for Things 3

It makes you ‘believe (3.0.3)
10/06/2017 11:47:27 5/5 By MattPhipps
The best app on a Mac! Whether you need a ToDo or not this is just an amazing app. The UX is near perfect and simply a joy to use. It reminds me of all that’s good about a Mac. If only Apple could create software this good!

This is a really, really good App (3.0.3)
06/06/2017 11:41:00 5/5 By Biggers777
I got fed up with things 2 and left for another, more flexible app. I had a go with the THINGS 3 trial and was immediately smitten. The killer features for me is the ability to put the tasks in any order you like (I have few appointments in the day and this allows me to prioritise the days most important tasks) and the display of the days calander items (Helps with both planning and managing the day). Well done to the Cultures Code team

Perfect (3.0.3)

v3 was almost perrect, bar a few small issues. These have all been fixed and the app is even better. Thank you! Looking forward to project recurring tasks :)

A Very Cultured App (3.0.3)
03/06/2017 18:57:13 5/5 By Department of Standards and Quality Control (DSQC)
Things 3 exhibits the kind of deep design that makes an application much more than the sum of its features. It is an example of the standard that can be achieved on the Apple platform when developers take the time to craft an application with passion. Things 3 embodies design values that keep immense organisational power out of the way, yet within easy reach. It combines, in perfect balance, a solid structure with fluid flexibilty that allows its use to be tailored, making it feel like a reliable and supportive friend. Things 3 is a joy to use, really useful and very tasteful. Things 3 and its creators are top notch, and the application is well worth the premium price.

Useful app (3.0.3)
03/06/2017 13:22:54 5/5 By Ga Lok Chung
My daily go to app to organise myself, I liked the default Reminders app compared to others because I could view my to-do list for a particualr day. This app can do that and much more. It’s easy to use and has no sync issues with iCal. I would say it feels very expensive to have to buy all 3 seperate apps for Mac, iPhone and iPad, givene that this is the type of app that you would frequenlty use acroos all devices.

It does exactly what it says on the tin! (3.0.1)
02/06/2017 11:04:50 5/5 By FHLM1
Love it, love it, love it!! Rarely is there a piece of software that does exactly what it says it does. Yes, its more money than most, but it’s worth every penny. Do not let its overly simple look fool you into thinking it’s basic. Behind the scenes it’s doing the hard work for you. I have both iOS & Mac versions and they are working seamlessly. Highly recommended.

A powerful and elegant task management app (3.0.1)
02/06/2017 07:39:53 5/5 By Ratan Vaswani
This is a brilliant app. It helps me organise all aspects of my life and work. The design is simple, elegant and intuitive. The interfaces are refreshingly uncluttered, allowing you to focus on tasks rather than managing the app. Things synchs beautifully across all my devices. I don’t believe in having endless apps, just enough to manage my schedule and workload. This is the single most useful tool I have; buying it was one of the best investments I’ve ever made.

Neat (3.0.1)
30/05/2017 06:30:53 4/5 By Alan888traveller
I was not disappointed with this app though I found it expensive for what it does. Much better value if the Mac price automatically provided the ability to download and use on other devices. Buying separately for iPad and or iPhone just doesnt make sense despite the convenience. Nice if the overdue items could have a red star. I dont regret buying this app but my wallet does!

Wonderful update (3.0.1)
30/05/2017 04:41:34 5/5 By Djh48
My initial reaction was that this was a lot of money to update all three devices (Mac, iPad, iPhone) for what at first glance seemed just a few nice cosmetic changes. Dig a little deeper however and WOW! . . . . this is a seriously major change to an already great app. Even easier to use than its predecessor and the iCal integration is pure genius. The developers have obviously taken a lot of time and trouble to make everything feel simple and logical. As before, syncing between devices is better than I’ve ever experienced for any application (and that includes Apple’s own!) and now we can set audible reminders too - fantastic! Don’t hesitate with this one; there isn’t a better management tool available.

Excellent, but with a serious flaw (3.0.1)
29/05/2017 23:31:59 2/5 By Aj7919
Overall an excellent app with a fresh user interface but with a major flaw for a tasks related app. You can only have a maximum of one level of subtasks within each task. If you leave everything else the same and add the functionality of multi level sub tasks this will be my go to app. For the price point its really unfrotunate that this basic feature isnt available. For a fraction of the price - Todoist does pretty much everything this app does and allows three levels of subtasks which allows for a much higher level of control in managing your activities.
