By SEGA (Sega America)

The definitive edition of the best-selling strategy game Total War™: ROME II, the Emperor Edition contains everything the original ROME II did, plus much, much more.

Alongside numerous improvements to performance and gameplay and all additional free content released since the launch of ROME II (including four bonus playable factions), the Emperor Edition introduces an improved politics system, refined unit balancing and new building chains.

Also includes a free download of the brand new expansion, the Imperator Augustus Campaign Pack, which drops players into the outbreak of the great Roman civil war that gave rise to the first emperor. As Octavian, Marc Anthony and Lepidus clash for supremacy, how far will you go to ensure a lasting peace?

- Plan your conquest of the known world in a massive sandbox turn-based campaign mode. Conspiracies, politics, intrigue, revolts, loyalty, honour, ambition, betrayal. Your decisions will write your own story.

- Build vast armies and take to the battlefield in real-time combat mode. Put your tactical skills to the test as you directly control tens of thousands of men clashing in epic land and sea battles.

- Play for the glory of Rome as one of three families or take command of a huge variety of rival civilisations – each offers a notably different form of gameplay experience with hundreds of unique units from siege engines and heavy cavalry to steel-plated legionaries and barbarian berserkers

- See exotic ancient cities and colossal armies rendered in incredible detail, as jaw-dropping battles unfold. Detailed camera perspectives allow you to see your men shout in victory or scream in pain on the frontline, while a new tactical cam allows a god’s eye view of the carnage to better inform your strategic decisions.

Please be aware that the Mac App Store version of Total War: ROME II – Emperor Edition does not feature any multiplayer functionality, or the ability to purchase additional DLC content.

What a waste of money (2.0.4)

Have downloaded and redownloaded the game now and it still won’t even open. Biggest waste of money I have ever spent.

I have a late 2015 27" iMac, with i7 processor with the AMD Radeon R9 M395X graphics card. This software crashes on opening every time, not getting past the initial title screen. Is there a fix in the works or how do I get a refund!

I just paid £44.99 and it won’t even start! Crashes pretty much the instant I even try to open it.

Wow…(and I don’t mean that positively) (0)

Lag, lag, lag EVERYWHERE!!! The Roman Empire has always fascinated me- along with much of the ancient world and when I got Rome 1 I loved it, but Rome 1 came out quite a few years ago and while its great it lacks a bit of visual effects After seeing all of the ads about Rome 2 I decided to get it- it looked insane! And then I recieve this… On medium setting it lags every time I move the camera and I cant even think what would happen if I’d make the unit size anything larger than low Some parts are great like the new features but it disappoints. 4/10

A Dissapointment. (2.0.3)

Yep, i ignored all these ratings below and proceeded to buy Rome 2 Total War as i was impressed with all other titles before and have baught almost all Total War games on the App Store. I met most of the system requirements and as Shogun 2 ran smoothly without many crashes, this game however is a stain on CA’s record for awesome and content filled games. Mass amounts of paid DLC, Confusing and complicated setting controls (What ever happened to Low,Medium,Highand Ultra settings?!) and extremely demanding graphics requirements make Rome 2 a letdown. Of course it has it’s benefits. More advanced custom battle settings are a pat on the back to players who want to jump right into the action, sea battles are more engaging than ever, with melee units being usable during a sea battle and more. Recently purchased an extra 8GB of RAM for my Mac OS X (combining to make 16GB of RAM) and the lag is still unbearable. I would not reccommend you purchase this game unless you have the latest Mac OS X and are running latest version. Overall, this game promised but could not deliver. In future, maybe focus on bringing older total war games to mac or perhaps giving feedback for reviews. Refunds should be optional for this game.

DO NOT BUY THIS GAME! Crashes instantly every time I launch. Not impressed. Apple refuse to refund me, and push me to the absolutley useless SEGA support forums.

Absolute Scam. Don’t waste your money! (2.0.3)

Met the minimum system requirements and the graphics are so attrocious it’s not even playable. It also frequently crashes. If you have a macbook don’t even consider buying it.

Works like a dream on my 5k imac. (2.0.3)
