Comments and Ratings for TrailRunner mini

I really like this app. (3.4.693)
03/10/2016 20:51:00 4/5 By 1RedSquirrel
TrailRunnerMini is great for planning walks. It “knows” where the established tracks are and will plot along them. The tracks can be exported to .gpx or .kml. GPX files will load into apps such as mobileX (Open Street Map) )or Ordnance Survey (UK mapping) on; KML files will open in Google Earth to enable a fly-over of the route. By adjusting the settings in Earth you can really get a feel of the route planned. The app has improved during the years I’ve been using it. It has easily repaid my investment by giving so much enjoyment. I occasionally have a problem when I click on a file to open it in the App. Not a big problem but means I give 4* rather than 5*. Thank you Berbie for an app that really enhances my enjoyment of walking. This year we are in Ireland for our holiday and your app has been a great help.

My go-to bike app (2.1.239)

Have used this for a few years now and it’s my go-to app for bike mileage. It covers the basics well and I consider it easier to use than the Garmin online offering. Use it for my Garmin Edge 200.

Bike guide (2.1.229)

I’m a bike guide and I find this a very useful app to help me with the disigning and mapping of routes. I find it especially useful to show my clients what the days ride will look like. It’s easy to use, very recommendable! One glitch! it happens on both my computers, The program crashes every now and then, I’m sure the team are on that!

Still the best mapping app for runners! (1.9.203)

This is still my go to app for plotting my running routes. I reviewed version 1.4 a while back and could find very little (if anything) negative to say about TrailRunner. It simply beats all the online services when it comes to easy of use and stability. Since my previous review a number of features have been added such as the ability to add collections. This is a great feature for organising my routes into different activities (e.g. walking, running, cycling, etc) or other catergories. For instance, I have a collection for trail running and one for road running. A much appreciate feature is the addition of more maps, which means that the app offers far more than any website I have come across. The same standout features are there such as the ability to follow tracks, pathways and footpaths automatically. Other mapping services only allow you to follow more major roads and you have to trace over paths manually. It is also possible drag a way-point to another street and the route will be automatically replotted to incorporate it, this means you can easily change an existing route to match a certain distance, which is especially helpful to runners who want to run a specific distance. It's great to see the product is under active development and not only tweaks are being made but whole features added relatively frequently.

USELESS (1.6 (v127))

This used to be such a great app. As a trail runner, I used to map all my runs beforehand and then transfer to the iPhone and it worked great! However, ever since the update, it is useless! Crashes every single time! I have persisted with the app in the hope that it would be fixed. I have downloaded all the beta updates but months later, it is still useless. Save your money until it is fixed which won't be anytime soon.

Very useful map app (1.5 (v126))

This is a very useful app for planning route to walk, run or cycle. It's pretty accurate when it comes to elevations let alone distances. It's exactly the app I was looking for to use on my Mac. The reason I have given it four stars instead of five is the syncing with RaceBunny for the iPhone. I have had the odd little issue with this but there is help on the internet at the developer's website and if you search Google. One thing to note on the syncing, it is working perfectly for me right now and has been for a while. Overall, very happy with the price for the app. Keep up the good work Berbie Software.

I like this app (1.4.114)

My wife and I like to walk and I cycle. This is a good app for planning (and reviewing) and is easy to email a route to my iphone where I use Motion X to import the route. The app is slightly buggy but I feel it's good value for money and I recommend it. If bugs are sorted it will definitely be 5 *.

Great alternative to mapmyrun, although occasionally sluggish (1.4.114)

I've used MapMyRun for a while, and long been frustrated at its glacial development progress and buggy interface. So TrailRunner mini is a great alternative - and also great not to have to endure ads and/or punitive membership fees just to create a running route. Only complaint is with the routing - particularly for longer sections, the follow-roads (or paths) route plotting can be incredibly slow. But for this price, I guess we shouldn't expect lightning fast performance.

dont waste your money!!!!!! (1.4.114)

downloaded the app and it dosent work it says sever no longer available waste of time and if its no longer available whys it on here still

Good App for reviewing training (1.4.113)

Hi, I am pleased with this app. Syncs easily with gps from iphone to record routes and detail training data, etc. Not sure I'm actually using the full potential of this programme (or ever will!) but it definitely does what I need it to do. Display of data is clear, and motivational and once you master transferring gpx files(not difficult) it is very straightforwardto operate.
