By Marquis Broadcast (Marquis Broadcast Limited)

Move your Final Cut Pro X projects to the audio suite simply and quickly. X2ProLE Audio Convert takes your FCP X XML and creates an AAF with embedded audio media which Avid Pro Tools can open as a session, delivering seamless integration between the two applications.

The AAF has also been successfully imported into Steinberg Nuendo, Merging Technologies Pyramix and Apple Logic Pro X.

X2ProLE has a simple to use, user interface which provides feedback on key project statistics.

Taking advantage of the innovative Roles features in FCP X; sorting tracks by name so that sound designers can start working immediately.

Media is embedded in the AAF to create a single, simple to transfer, file.

X2ProLE faithfully translates your audio timeline along with L-cuts, J-cuts, transitions, levels, automatic gain and fade handles, as well as the incredibly powerful FCP X compound clips. Transitions are converted into linear cross fades. Audio media can be any QuickTime supported audio, non-PCM audio is converted to PCM at either 16 or 24 bit.

R3D media is supported.

Multicam Clips are effectively translated taking across the audio of the selected angle.

X2ProLE gives a clear warning when it comes across elements of a sequence which it does not translate such as time maps and effects.

We recommend rendering an off-line or proxy version of the flattened video and exporting that if a reference is needed within Pro Tools. Only audio media is translated by X2ProLE.

• FCP X, 10.0.4 or later and XML 1.1 and later
• X2ProLE runs on OS X El Capitan (10.11) and later
• Pro Tools v7.0 or later for AAF import (not LE versions, v7 and v8 require Digitranslator for AAF import)

The screenshots show the same project in FCP X and after conversion in Pro Tools, Logic Pro X and Pyramix.

This is the LE version of X2Pro. An in app purchase allows the user to upgrade to the professional version which includes:

• Embedded media can be trimmed
• Media can be referenced rather than embedded
• You can choose which roles and subroles to export and which to ignore
• You can choose the order in which roles and subroles are exported
• When FCP X Roles are packed into Pro Tools tracks, subroles can be ignored creating a far more compressed set of tracks

X2ProLE Audio Convert is a cutting edge conversion application for delivering FCP X projects for audio finishing.

X2Pro uses Marquis Media Highway technology to integrate FCP X into the established professional audio workflow. Comments and Ratings for X2ProLE Audio Convert

adertised with wrong price and doesn’t work (4.0.12)

I bought this app to convert FCPx XML files to AAF, which was supposed to be a straightforward undertaking. There’s no trial version so I had to shell out £99 as opposed to $99 as was advertised on Marquis throughout. After reluctantly buying something I haven’t tried, it now doesn’t even work. It is way too picky and errors on any Prores 442HQ clip, of which there are hundreds in our current feature film. Result – it does not work. Oh, and by the way, the X2ProLE Audio Convert Support page link doesn’t work either. Well done both Marquis and Mac Store (not). I’ll be trying to get my money back.

Excellent ! (3.0.13)

This app is that rarest of things, a bit pro audio/video of software that works first time with no fuss, & little need to read the instructions…it took about 5 mins to get the FCPX project into Pro Tools HD, with all the audio on separate tracks & nothing messed up/out-of-sync. Highly recommended. Ru Cook - Lost Boys Studio, U.K

Just the job! (2.3)

Worked well creating an AAF for sound dubbing a recent film in Pro Tools but you do need to get your head around using roles in FCP X.

I recently used X2ProLE to export audio from an FCPX project on a commercial film, for professional mixing in a Protools based studio. Preparing the audio using ‘roles’ took minutes. The project opened flawlessly in Protools with the tracks all labelled according to the roles I’d assigned, and handles added automatically. The mix went very smoothly, no issues at all. I asked the engineer if there was any feedback but everything was 100% as expected. I will be using X2ProLE from here on and would recommend it to anyone who can use AAF format for their mixes. OMF export from FCPX is no longer an issue for me as AAF is better. The last barrier to using FCPX on serious commercial projects is solved - many thanks to the developers, well done.
